NCAT is offering $1,000 reimbursement to cover registration and travel costs for applicants wanting to attend professional development. Applicants are reviewed frequently to verify eligibility and selection. Notification will be sent out immediately once the process is complete. There are a limited number of participants that will be selected for this opportunity.

Eligible Participants:

• Secondary educators
• Faculty at community/technical colleges or universities
• Faculty supporting technician education
• Students enrolled in 2-year technical programs
• Robotics Education and Outreach Forum Participants

Participant support funding is provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Program. With an emphasis on two-year institutions of higher education (IHEs), the ATE program focuses on the education of technicians for the high-technology fields that drive our nation’s economy. The program involves partnerships between academic institutions (grades 7-12, IHEs) and industry to promote improvement in the education of science and engineering technicians at the undergraduate and secondary institution levels. The ATE program supports curriculum development; professional development of college faculty and secondary educators; career pathways; and other activities.

It is expected that individuals receiving participant support funding through NSF ATE will contribute to open educational resources, increasing the body of knowledge for autonomous technologies. Resources may include producing models of curriculum, lesson plans, and/or labs, based on your increased knowledge while attending this event and your future classroom plans. These open educational resources will be disseminated through the National Center for Autonomous Technologies (NCAT).
