Drone Safety Day (DSD) is the FAA’s annual campaign dedicated to educating the drone community of the importance of flying safely. DSD will highlight the societal, economic, and safety benefits of safe drone operations with in-person, virtual, and hybrid events in focus areas such as Education, Economics, Equity, Environment, and Emergencies.

Drone Safety Day, previously known as National Drone Safety Awareness Week, is returning for its fifth consecutive year on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Share how drones are used in education. Drones are quickly making their way into STEM, K-12, and university curriculums through the Collegiate Training Initiative. See how the students of today will become the drone experts of tomorrow!
Opens opportunities for everyone. Drones are an equalizer in aviation. They require a low cost to entry, and are being implemented in schools all over the country in STEM applications. They also provide an opportunity to fly for people who would not be able to fly a traditional aircraft.
